Puerto Banus is situated between Marbella and San Pedro.  If you´re here on holiday, then you just have to visit.  It´s beautiful to walk along with all the superyachts, designer shops and it´s particularly nice when the sun is shining.   By night it gets a bit wild.  It´s a great place to go to if you´re looking to party.  You can read a bit more about Puerto Banus here on Wikipedia.

How To Get To Puerto Banus from Malaga Airport

From Malaga Airport to Puerto Banus, it´s around 60 km. When booking hotels or apartments please check the location on Google Maps to be sure it is in Puerto Banus, because some people may use the words “Puerto Banus” and it´s actually in San Pedro or even Estepona!    Also, when booking flights, you might be tempted to buy those cheap late-night flights, but if you’re planning on taking public transport, please note that it all stops at midnight.

Malaga Airport To Puerto Banus By Car

If travelling with your family, hiring a car is the best solution.  A return journey from Malaga Airport to Puerto Banus by taxi probably won´t be far off the price of hiring a car for a week, you can get a quote here.  Tips! Don´t go for the smallest car because you don’t want to have any luggage on show and make sure there´s aircon!  We know there are many people who don’t like driving abroad, but with Google Maps and all these other apps for directions, it really couldn’t be easier. Here are some driving tips which might help.  If you´re staying in an apartment in Puerto Banus, ask about parking at your accommodation before hiring a car. Check Google Maps for driving information.

Malaga Airport to Puerto Banus by Train

Unfortunately, the train only runs as far as Fuengirola.  Read more about Malaga Airport train here.  So you could take the train to Fuengirola and then a bus to Puerto Banus, but you might be better waiting for the direct bus to Marbella as mentioned below.

Malaga Airport to Puerto Banus by Bus

If your only option is a bus, then there is a direct bus from Malaga Airport to Marbella Bus  Station which is 8 km away from Puerto Banus.  So you would then need to take another bus, taxi or have someone pick you up.  You can see the timetable and prices for the direct Malaga to Marbella bus here plus all the website links for buses along the Costa Del Sol.

Malaga Airport to Puerto Banus by Taxi

As you leave the arrivals hall you will see the taxi rank over to the right.  It´s a 60km journey so don’t expect much change from around 100€.  Prices will vary depending on the number of passengers, luggage, day of the week and time of day. You can see rough Malaga Airport Taxi prices here.  There are meters in the taxis now, so please make sure they are on.  Another piece of advice is not to start unpacking in the taxi, especially at night. We receive many emails from people losing items and sadly never getting them back.

 Malaga Airport to Puerto Banus by Shared Transfer

This is a great option of you´re travelling alone at night as the buses do not run 24 hours.  By booking a shared transfer it´s all paid for upfront. It won´t be the quickest route though as you will be dropping people off along the way.  They will also drop you at the nearest hotel where you are staying. Puerto Banus Local Buses & Taxis

If you’re not hiring a car and need to take a bus, you can find the local Puerto Banus Bus Lines here.  Other bus companies that run along the coast include Avanza Portillo and Alsa.  We have lots more information about Costa Del Sol Buses here.  If you need to call a taxi the official company is Taxisol 0034 952 774488.  There’s also Uber here now.

Puerto Banus Shopping

If you love shopping then you will LOVE Puerto Banus.  Firstly, there is a huge El Corte Ingles which sells everything you can imagine and has all the top fashion brands on the ground and first floor.  Then there’s Marina Banus which has Zara, H&M, Massimo Dutti and lots more top high street names.  If you love designer shops then you have to walk along the front line of Puerto Banus where you will find Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci and Todds just to name a few.

Puerto Banus Markets

If you love markets, then you must not miss the Puerto Banus Market on Saturday mornings.  It starts at Centro Plaza and goes all the way down by the Bullring to the roundabout where La Sala is.   A fantastic market selling everything from clothes to fruit and veg.  There are different markets everyday along the Costa Del Sol.  You can read all about the Costa Del Sol Markets here and find their exact locations.

Puerto Banus Cinema

The Cinema in Puerto Banus is now called Teatro Goya.  They have many films in English and Spanish, and it´s really good value. If driving, park in the car park in the centre of Puerto Banus and you will receive 3 hours of free parking when showing your parking ticket at the time of purchasing your cinema tickets.

Looking for a casino?  There´s Marbella Casino at the H10 Andalucia Plaza Hotel, just across the main road from Puerto Banus and can be accessed via the tunnel.

Parking in Puerto Banus

If you’re staying in Puerto Banus make sure you ask about parking at your accommodation.  Pay & Display is valid from 9 am until 2.30 pm and then again from 4.30 pm till 8.30 pm Monday to Friday and until 2.30 pm on Saturdays.  El Corte Ingles has parking from 10 am to 10 pm.  If you have an El Corte Ingles Card and spend over 35€ you get 2 hours free, otherwise, it´s around 2.40€ per hour.  There is Parking in Marina Banus and a huge car park under the centre of Puerto Banus.  Avoid the car park just before TGI´s and also the one near the entrance to Puerto Banus as these are really expensive!+

If you read all the gossip magazines, you will see many of the stars from Reality TV programs like TOWIE and Made In Chelsea at one of these all-day beach club parties.   Be prepared to spend big because these are not cheap days out!  Dress To Impress!

Puerto Banus Beach Bars / Restaurants

If you´re looking for more of a relaxed beach bar, then here are just a few recommendations along the beach in Puerto Banus.  These are situated from the Marbella end to the San Pedro end of Puerto Banus.   We have linked directly through to their Facebook Pages so you can read for yourself what everyone is saying.  We love Astral Beach Bar in the evenings and the food in Espigones is really good, quick and not overly expensive.

Puerto Banus Bars & Night Clubs

There are so many bars and night clubs in Puerto Banus.  One of my favourites has to be Old Joys with fantastic live music every night, but this is for a slightly older crowd.  Sinatras and News Cafe are always very popular as is Havana Bar.  All these mentioned are on the frontline but there is the Second Line Puerto Banus as well where you will find all the bars, pubs and lap dancing places.      With bars opening and closing all the time, we believe it´s best to check Facebook for some of the latest reviews or come and join our Facebook Group.  Like anywhere, please watch your drinks, there have been numerous stories of drink spiking here.

Puerto Banus Beaches

Puerto Banús beach is located next to the most exclusive marina in the Mediterranean Sea and looks directly at both Río Verde beach and La Concha mountain. The beach offers many attractions both in terms of services (beach clubs, cafes, etc.) and leisure. Puerto Banus Kids Activities & Theme Parks
