Marbella weather really is fantastic, most of the time, hence the reason so many people want to live here.
Most of the time the sun is shining, but when it rains, the heavens really do open! This year so far we have had fires, floods and severe fog causing many problems at the airports. It has been the strangest year since we have lived here in 10 years.
The weather can change enormously driving up and down the coast. Numerous times we have left Marbella to drive towards Gibraltar to find ourselves driving in some of the most awful miserable weather.
I’ll give you a quick run down of the weather and what you should bring when coming on Holiday in Marbella but do check the 10 day Marbella Forecast and form your own opinion as often this can be wrong.
It’s winter and generally there are no carpets in the properties here in Marbella. So some very important items to bring are socks / slippers for walking around in. The floors get chilly. Best to bring layers, a waterproof & umbrella.
Generally quite nice weather, not too chilly during the day, but may need something lightweight in evening. It can rain in April and it can rain hard. So we would recommend a waterproof and umbrella along with your normal sunny clothing.
Generally really lovely months. You have to be pretty unlucky to have bad days, but it can happen. Everytime we have guests during these months, they always bring far too much. Generally during the day you live swimwear with a change of clothes in the evening. Things dry so quickly so if you have access to a washing machine, you really dont need too much. Very lightweight clothing, preferably cotton or a natural fibre! Leave the acrylic and polyester at home!
October is generally quite a nice month when it usually starts to get a little chilly and for us locals the duvets make their way out of the storage on the beds. However, if you are coming from the UK, you will probably still find it really hot and be sunbathing on the beach. It can rain, just like this October, so do bring a jacket.
With the clocks recently changed, winter seems to set in really quickly with a chill in the air and starts getting dark around 6.30pm but at least its lovely and light by the time we wake up in the morning by 8am. You will definitely need duvets or blankets on the beds. In the evenings, you would find us locals wrapped up in a coat, whilst people on holiday will be quite happy walking around in flip flops, shorts and tshirt. The floors are cold, so you do need socks and slippers.
