Marbella Beaches stretch from Calahonda all the way to Marbella Town and then it continues along the Golden Mile which is the area between Marbella and Puerto Banus. You can walk for a good hour along the Marbella Sea Front passing many shops, cafes and restaurants and also the Plaza del Mar Shopping Complex with the Supercor Supermarket, a number of outside Cafes (including Terra Sana) , a Gymnasium and multi screen Cinema.
The beaches from Marbella to Calahonda are generally quite sandy and shallow and all along the N340 coast road you will find exits for the beach clubs, bars and restaurants. One of the most popular beaches in the summer is Funny Beach, which has a whole host of activities for the kids, including water boats, bungee, trampolines, bouncy castle, etc. It is just past Marbella on the N340 and you can’t miss the big sign on the side of the road.
You can find a list of all the Blue Flag beaches on the Costa del Sol here.
Nagueles Beach situated on the Golden Mile next to the Marbella Club and Puente Romano Hotels. Its a very popular place where many families set up camp for the day. This area is also very popular as it offers water sports including windsurfing, jet skiing, pedalos, etc.
Many people used to use Puente Romano Hotel Toilets, but they have made it impossible for non guests to enter. Further along there are some public toilets and showers. At certain points you will also find lifeguards and often lifeguards walking along the beaches in the summer months.
La Fontanilla Beach (pictured) is next to the Leisure Port in Marbella offering pedalos, sun beds and parasols and beach restaurants.
El Faro Beach is west of the Leisure Port in the very centre of Marbella. There are two beach restaurants as well as free children’s games on the beach.
La Venus Beach is close to the Marbella Sports Port with three beach restaurants with sun beds, as well as free children’s games on the beach.
La Bajadilla Beach is close to the fishing port with three beach restaurants with sun beds.
Further along the coast towards Calahanda are these popular Marbella Beach Bars. You can look at their websites, or find them on Facebook or Tripadvisor, Polo Loco Beach Marbella, The Beach House Marbella, South Beach Marbella , Funny Beach and Hippo Beach Marbella. We have been to The Beach House Marbella a few times. It’s a really nice day out, renting a sunbed, waiter service all day long serving you drinks and snacks and lovely food in the restaurant. Its not a cheap day out, so you have been warned, but it is a lovely relaxing day out.
