Theme Parks & Kids Activities Costa Del Sol

Kids Costa Del Sol

If you’re coming to the Costa Del Sol and wondering what kids’ activities there are, well, we can tell you that there are lots of things to do! You can also come and chat with us on Facebook for detailed last-minute information in our group The Costa Del Sol Travel Forum.

The majority of the places listed below also do birthday parties and some have annual passes which work out excellent value if you live here or if you are a regular visitor to the Costa Del Sol. Also, do keep your eyes out for little discount cards for these attractions, which are usually at the airport, car hire desk, shopping centres and supermarkets.

The latest addition to the Costa Del Sol is the Outdoor Fly Dive Centre Fly 4 Real, situated inland in Campillos right next to the Go Karting.  One of the other favourites for kids is Amazonia which is like Go Ape in the UK and Prison Island in Benalmadena.  In the summer you cannot beat the Costa Water Parks situated along the coast where you can pay per hour or for the whole day.  If you’re looking for free stuff to do, there’s the beach, park areas and don’t forget about walking up in the mountains.  There are some fabulous routes here and one place you should check out is Juanar which is 10 minutes up the road from La Cañada shopping centre.

We have broken these down into areas and if we’ve missed an attraction you know about or own, please send us a message.

Malaga Kart & Fun

Karting is great fun for all the family, groups of friends, hens, stags and team-building evenings. For the adults, there tracks up to 840  metres long and a minimum of 8 metres wide.  For the kids, the track is 140 metres. Book in advance as this does get busy. They also have another centre in Estepona on the Industrial Estate. Google Maps

Escape Room Malaga City

Great for families, friends, birthday parties and also a good place for team building. Numerous rooms where you have to solve the mystery based on strategy, skill and teamwork. Google Maps

Fly 4 Real, Campillos

This is brand new to the area of Campillos, Malaga. We have tried the indoor skydiving version (in other countries) numerous times which is amazing but we’ve never tried this new outdoor version. This is a brilliant addition to the area and something completely different to anything else here. Great for everyone of all ages from 5 to 95. Check the website for prices and booking your space. Torremolinos & Benalmádena Area Kids Activities

Prison Island, Benalmadena

Great fun for all the family.  20 rooms with different types of puzzles to solve, mental and physical.  It´s best to be in 2 teams of 3/4 people.  Having been there a couple of times you do need at least 3 people for some of the rooms.  There´s snacks you can buy, lockers and toilets.  It´s also a great place to hold a birthday party.  It can get busy and very loud but it´s great fun.  Prison Island can be found upstairs in the little Shopping Precinct in Benalmadena Port.  It is best to book in advance as this does get busy.  For booking and prices please check the website. Google Maps

Aqualand, Torremolinos

Great fun for the kids and adults, one of the biggest water parks on the Coast with a huge amount of rides for all ages.  There are kids shows, flamenco shows, restaurants and gardens where you can take a picnic.  It does get very busy and you can be queuing quite a while for some of the rides, so get there early and rent the rubber rings for the rides as soon as you can.  Search online for special group offers and look out for discount vouchers in the newspapers and sometimes at Leroy Merlin. Google Maps

Crocodile Park, Torremolinos

A purpose-built Crocodile Park with 300 Crocodiles and exotic water birds . You can even hold one! There are guided tours and shows, mini zoo, kids play area, cafeteria and even a baby crocodile nursery to see.  If you book online you can get a 25% discount so well worth it! Google Maps

Battery Park, Parque de la Bateria, Torremolinos

If you’re in the Torremolinos area and looking for something free to do, Battery Park is a really nice park, a bit like Paloma Park in Benalmadena.  It has a large boating lake which is really cheap, the only problem is that it closes for Siesta, so avoid hours from 1:30 pm to 4 pm. Google Maps

Selwo Marina – Benalmadena

We loved this place when we used to visit when our daughter was a lot younger.  Do check show times before arriving or you may feel you didn´t get value for money as its quite small.  You can also purchase an annual pass which can work out really good value.  Check opening times and ticket prices directly on their website. Google Maps

Dolphins park - Selwo Marina

Paloma Park, Benamalmadena

Paloma Park is right next to Selwo Marina. This is a huge park with a large lake with ducks, parks and playgrounds, a little farm area with goats, and chickens and rabbits running free. There is also a large children’s park with slides and climbing areas. Google Maps

Sea Life Centre – Benalmadena

Sea Life Benalmádena is a magical marine experience on the Costa del Sol, with over 500.000 litres of water in which swim more than 5.000 different creatures, including species from the Mediterranean, Atlantic, Indian, Pacific Oceans and even creatures normally found in the Red Sea.  You can often find discounts online.  For ticket prices and opening hours go directly to their website. Google Maps

Teleferico Cable Car – Benalmadena

If you like heights and scenery then you must take a trip on the Cable Car that will take you to the peak of Calamorro where you can do a donkey ride, see Spanish horse riding displays or do a bit of rambling, then take a coffee in the cafeteria with its amazing views over Malaga Coastline.  For opening times and prices please check the website directly. Google Maps

Butterfly Park, Mariposario de Benalmadena

We loved this place; fun, colourful and educational.  More than 1,500 exotic butterflies from all over the world, all fly freely in the beautiful surroundings of waterfalls and flowers.  You can see how they are born, how they reproduce and learn many more facts about these little insects.  It really is worth a visit.  Keep your eyes open for discount vouchers which you might find at the airport, car hire desks, shopping centres and newspapers. Google Maps

Costa Water Park, Benalmadena

There are 7 of these inflatable obstacle courses in the sea along the Costa Del Sol, Benalmádena, 3 in Fuengirola, Elviria, Puerto Banus and San Pedro Alcántara. This is great fun for both kids and adults. You can pay for 1 hour or buy a ticket for the whole day.  If you have small kids, please take good care of them if the sea is a little rough or if it´s busy.  Prices are normally 10€ an hour or 25€ for the whole day. Google Maps

Fuengirola & Mijas Area

Bioparc Fuengirola / Fuengirola Zoo

This zoo was another one of our favourite places to go to, we even bought the annual pass which was fantastic value if you went a few times a year.  The park isn´t too big but there is so much to do and see and you must find out the times of the shows as these are well worth seeing.  In the summer months, the zoo is open in the evenings.  There are often discount cards for the zoo at the airport, car hire desks and shopping centres. Google Maps

Aquatic Park / Mijas Water Park

Personally, we prefer this to Torremolinos, maybe because it feels a bit smaller and the rides don’t seem as scary.   We often spend all day here and take a packed lunch or eat in the restaurants.   Lots of other activities, shows, mini-golf, dancing and we love water aerobics!  There are lockers and the toilets and changing rooms are generally spotless with cleaners working all day long.  There are discounts if you go in the late afternoon and you may find discount vouchers around too.  It does get busy and if you’re going to rent one of the rubber rings, do it as soon as you arrive. La Cala to Elvira

Aventura Amazonia, Elviria

We love this place, great day out for adults and kids and also as part of a team-building experience.    You will go through a training session with qualified instructors and the safety of the harnesses have been improved so it is safer than ever.  Different courses for different levels and ages.  Lots of places to sit and eat, so feel free to take a picnic.  Prices seem to have risen quite a lot since it opened, but you may be able to pick up some discount vouchers or online.  The last time we went, one of the kids was unable to do it due to her height so please do check heigh restrictions before setting off to avoid disappointment. Google Maps

Marbella to San Pedro

The Boulevard, San Pedro

The Boulevard isn´t a theme park, but it is a great place to go with your kids and it´s free.  A huge pedestrianised area in the centre of San Pedro above the tunnel, full of parks and playgrounds for kids of all ages, lots of places to sit and rest, cafes and restaurants, ice skating rink and also an outdoor Theatre.  A really lovely place to meet up with friends where the kids can run free. Selwo Adventure Park Estepona

We used to spend hours here taking the trucks all the way to the top and walking all the way down via the rope bridges.  So much to see and do, and lots of fantastic shows and talks about the animals, so be sure to check times.  You can take a picnic or eat there in one of their restaurants.  If you are a regular visitor or live here, it could be worth looking at buying an annual pass.  They have changed the pricing since we visited where you have to pay for the buses separately.  In the summer months, the queue can be long so make sure you have hats and suncream. Google Maps

Castellar Zoo, Castellar de la Frontera

Castellar Zoo is a rescue centre which has really improved its facilities over the years.  There is often a little baby monkey or tiger which they have rescued at the entrance which everyone falls in love with.    It´s not overly expensive and you can get really close to the animals.  At the entrance, you can also buy bags of food for a 1€.  We love this place and highly recommend everyone going.  It´s about another 15  minutes on from Sotogrande School.  Check the website for prices and opening hours.
