Castellar Zoo is one of our favourite places to go to when we have family or friends with kids visiting.
Over the years we´ve watched it grow from a very small animal rescue centre to the fabulous centre it is today where you can learn and get up close and personal with many of the animals. It´s great fun for all the family.
You can often hold a baby monkey, hold snakes (large and small), feed the lemurs and now there´s a fabulous area full of goats you can feed. You can also hold a honey bear, be with lots of birds and rabbits and you can have photos holding the owls.
It´s in Castellar de la Frontera (not far from Sotogrande School). The complete address is Cerro del Moro s/n 11350 Castellar de la Frontera, Cádiz España.

There´s lots of parking at the Zoo. When we went it was free but occasionally there might be someone controlling it where you pay a small fee.
There is a little cafe at the zoo but you can take your own food too. There are quite a few places where you can sit and eat your pack lunch.
If you live here or maybe visiting for a few weeks and want to keep the kids occupied or maybe you would like them to improve their Spanish, the zoo does have a summer camp. You would need to contact them directly.
