If you have driven around the Golden Mile Area in Marbella, you may have seen lots of work going on. This is all preparation for the Davis Cup which is being held at The Puente Romano Hotel, February 2nd – 4th 2018.
All the roads are being improved, streets are being cleaned up, flags have been put up all along the main road and many other roads close by which have needed desperate attention for years are finally getting what they deserve.
It´s going to be a huge event, the stage is up and it´s rather scary how high it is, so if you don´t like heights, book your tickets or arrive early in case it´s free seating.
Puente Romano Resort is now a really popular place to hang out, especially in the evenings. If possible, you really should try and book a table at BIBO, one of our favourite restaurants by Dani Garcia. However, there are many others including Serafina, Thai Gallery, Monkey Club or even NOBU. Celicioso is a cool, relaxed place to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner and perfect for anyone with celiacs disease or any other dietary issues.
If you are flying in to Malaga and need to get to Marbella, there are several options. You could hire a car from the airport and drive which is about 50 – 60 minutes. Alternatively, outside the arrivals hall are taxis. You could also book a private transfer where the driver will meet you in the arrivals hall. This is also prepaid so no worrying about not having Euros on you. The cheapest option is taking the Direct Bus from Malaga Airport to Marbella. This takes around 45 minutes but you would then need to take a taxi or bus from the bus station.
