This guide explains all the Malaga Airport car parks, their locations and rough prices, to help you choose the best parking options.

NOTE: Free 10-Minute Drop Off

Please note that as such, there is no “free” drop-off zone at Malaga Airport. However, there’s an Express Car Park upstairs in Departures where you can get a ticket and park for FREE for 10 minutes. For those used to driving to the airport, this used to be 15 minutes, but has now changed to 10 minutes only!

Car Parks & Malaga Airport Parking Charges

You have a huge choice of parking at Malaga Airport. Choosing which car park to use totally depends on you, your circumstances and budget. There are car parks situated directly at Malaga Airport, which are very convenient, but they do cost. Then there are a huge amount of Off-Site Car Parks which are great for long term parking.

1. Drop-off / Pick-up Car Parks Malaga Airport

Express Parking in Departures, 10 Minutes FREE

As you approach Malaga Airport,drive up the big ramps upstairs to Departures, and take a ticket. You will then enter the Express Car Park. This car park is free for the first 10 minutes for dropping off. If you’re under 10 minutes you can drive out. If you are more than 1 minute over, you must validate your ticket at the ticket machines. Thereafter, the first hour is 6.68€ and every hour an additional 6.38€. The total cost for a whole day is 58€. Remember, the maximum parking duration here is 24 hours. If you exceed this limit, your car will be towed away. So when parking at the airport, be sure to leave your car in the correct car park or it will cost a fortune!

Arrivals P1 Car Park

This car park can only be accessed from downstairs (Arrivals). This covered car park is a very convenient car park for the airport terminals, but once again, not cheap. You can travel directly into the terminal via the travelators and the 2nd floor is the best floor for the terminal. You can see all the prices here, approx 0.89€ for the first minute, 0.02€ per min 2 to 30 minutes and 0.05 per minute over 31 minutes or 19€ a day up to 4 days then 16.50€ a day thereafter.  You can book this Malaga car park in advance.

2. Long Term Malaga Airport Parking

There are lots of long-term parking companies to choose from. Most have their own shuttle buses and will drop you off and then pick you up at the end of the tunnel which is accessible by turning right when you leave the arrivals hall. Generally, you give them a call once you have picked up your baggage and by the time you get to the end of the tunnel, they will be there within a couple of minutes. You will see some cheap prices, but often these depend on the duration, how long you book in advance and the cars will probably be left outside in the boiling sun or rain. Do choose a reputable company and not just one in the middle of nowhere because it’s cheap!

Picasso Parking Malaga Airport

We personally use Picasso Parking Malaga. This car park is far from being just an ordinary Long Term Car Park. Firstly it is absolutely spotless, you cannot believe cars are going in and out all day. There is a cafe/restaurant for a quick, cheap bite to eat and they also have many discount cards for activities along the Coast.

Not only that, but they also have a full car cleaning service and servicing department where you can have your wheels, oil and breaks checked. They can even do an ITV check whilst you are away. Plus your car is kept undercover with 24-hour security.

Dropping off and collection were very efficient and the shuttle vehicle was spotless, with a smartly dressed, polite driver. What more could you ask for? When picking up your car, just give them a call once you have picked up your cases and they will meet you at an agreed spot near Arrivals. For the convenience of this quick shuttle, as and when you need it, we highly recommend this service.

Malaga Airport P3 Long Term Stay

The long-stay car park which is managed by AENA, the airport authority, is located outside the Malaga Airport terminal building. The signs for this will say “Larga Estancia” which means “long-stay” in Spanish. It is accessible via a shuttle bus every 10-15 minutes, with a journey time of around 5-10 minutes. These times also depend on customer demand, so you could be waiting a while if you just missed the shuttle.

We have done a few comparisons for 1 week in June 2024, between this Airport Car Park and Picasso Parking. Like for like there was just a 3€ difference. For the time you may have to wait, we recommend parking at Picasso, but please do get your own quotes. If travelling with kids and numerous suitcases, there isn’t much shade or cover whilst waiting for the Shuttle Bus, so take this into consideration too. TIP: There are lots of off-site long-term car parks around Malaga Airport. Many will advertise some really cheap prices. However, these prices are for a minimum of X amount of days stay. So be sure not to go somewhere which seems really cheap only to find that actually it’s the same price as one of the Car Parks close to the Airport. Many of these Car Parks will also take your car all the way to Malaga Port! Also, do remove any valuable items from the car, wherever you leave it.

3. Car Hire Parking, VIP Parking & Private Flight Parking

Car Hire Parking

The car park for car hire companies is on floors 0 and -1 of the P2 car park (for picking up vehicles) and on floors -1 and -2 of the P1 car park (for returning them). As you drive into the airport, it is clearly signposted where to go, just drive slowly so you don’t miss your line. Always check when picking up your car exactly where you should drop it off.

VIP Parking

VIP parking offers the convenience of leaving your car with someone who will be waiting for you to arrive to take the vehicle away and park it safely. On your return, you can pick it up in the arrivals area. You can also order other services, such as car washing, checks, MOT, etc. Prices vary a lot depending on the number of days stay but for example, 1 week in October is 89€. P7 Private Flights Car Park

This is situated near the general aviation terminal P7 and is ideal if you’re travelling on a private jet or privately booked flight. Right next to this terminal is the Airport Museum which is well worth a visit if you have time.
