A Guide To Puerto Banus Spanish Restaurants
Spanish Restaurants in Puerto Banus
If we are going to be honest, we ate tapas when we first moved here and fell ill a few times which put us off it. However we have learnt that come the summer months, you just need to be a bit more wary of the food that is already prepared. Be especially careful with chicken, pork and prawns. "The Spanish" digestive system is used to this type of food, ours isn't.
We also didn't find it had much flavour - until La Moraga came along. La Moraga is run by famous Spanish Michelin Star Chef Dani Garcia. It's not cheap, but moderately priced with pretty small portions, but the flavours are amazing.
It was then when that we realised you need to avoid the "touristy" places and go where the Spanish eat. Just behind La Moraga is La Taberna del Pinxto which is not as classy but the hot tapas is amazing and half the price.
We hope you enjoy them!
Personal Review. The first time we went the flavours blew our mind, it was amazing! Mini Oxtail Burgers, Fried Fish Balls and mini tortillas our favourite. Try at least once but you might have to wait for a table because it's very popular. It's a very modern restaurant with the kitchen on full view behind glass, and large ice buckets either end of the bar filled with wine bottles and dry ice to give a really theatrical effect! |
Personal Review: Very nice cakes, just 3€ each and wonderful if you are having a dinner party. Nice place to go for a coffee too. |
Personal Review: This really is fast food, go in take a plate and take whatever you wish. Keep the sticks and they add it up at the end. Get the Hot Tapas Menu too.....absolutely amazing some of it. Go and try - A MUST!!! |
Personal Review: We used to go a lot but found that much of the tapas was heavily fried and also menu has become more limited lately. We prefer La Taberna del Pinxto & La Moraga |
Personal Review: A Spanish Sea Food Restaurant, serves everything from Clams to Lobster. |
Personal Review: We love this restaurant, the salads are great, chicken, beef, pork, fish, pizza and pastas so something for everyone. Cheapish too! |
Opening Hours: Open 11:00 am until midnight Website: www.lapesquera.com Personal Review: Serves great fish and paella dishes. Very traditional Spanish menu with gazpacho, tortilla and just about every fish dish you can think of. Buzzy atmosphere and friendly staff. Their paella marinera is sublime but be prepare to wait at least 30 minutes for it to be ready. |
