Places of Interest along the Costa Del Sol
There is so much to do here on the Costa Del Sol. Some people think they may be a little bored laying in the sun by the pool, but there really is something for everyone here. Before we moved here permanently and came out on holiday we used to go out first thing in the morning to explore nearby towns and areas of interest and then chill by the pool in the afternoon.
Some other people we know rented an apartment in Puerto Banus for 2 weeks but used it as a base and hired a car and went out every day to different places: even staying overnight occasionally.
We have written about our personal trips, day trips and weekends away around Andalucia. All trips are within 2 to 3 hours away from Malaga Airport.
There are tiny little pueblos and fantastic cities to visit, while driving through some of the most amazing scenery you have ever seen.
Costa Del Sol Places to Visit

Castellar A day trip, about 1 hour 45 minutes from Malaga Airport in the direction of Algeciras. An amazing place where people still live.
Cordoba is just a two hour drive from Malaga Airport. A fantastic city full of history. The Mosque / Cathedral is a must, one of the most amazing places I have seen.
Gibraltar is a 90 minute drive from Malaga Airport, fantastic amount of History and strange leaving Spain and entering little Britain!
Grazalema : A beautiful area in the countryside, about 2 to 2.5 hours from Malaga Airport.
Istan is a beautiful Spanish Village just 25 minutes from Marbella but you feel a million miles away.
Malaga City is a great City, full of life, art & culture, history and shopping. You can get the train there directly from Malaga Airport.
Monda is a small town just 40 minutes from Malaga Airport. It is where you can find Monda Castle.
Ronda is a beautiful old town very high up on a mountain top, a 90 minute drive from Malaga Airport.
