Malaga Flights From Shannon
It takes just over thre hours to fly from Shannon in Ireland to Malaga Costa del Sol Airport with the low cost airline Ryanair.
I have been at Malaga Airport a number of times and seen travellers who arrive here without any thought on how they can get to their final destination. There are information desks and a tourist office for assistance, but making last minute bookings and arrangements can often cost you more – especially during the high season when availability can be limited.
Most Spanish Airports have taxi ranks outside the arrivals hall, and if they are in popular tourist destinations like Malaga they also operate regular bus services. Taxis can be an expensive option in Spain as they are not metered and charge a per kilometre rate. Before you set off make sure you have obtained a quote from the taxi driver on the likely cost. Spanish taxi drivers carry a book which sets down the fares (but does not state the destination) and the more unscrupulous ones have been known to point to a figure that they pick at random, so if you can check out fares before you leave the UK so much the better.
Most Spanish bus routes operate a circular route so timetables are not always very clear or easy to understand. Again check on the bus company’s website to find out the correct bus number and its timetable before you leave the UK.
We also provide details on Irish Airports which fly to Malaga and which airlines you can use.
