Making your Reservation

Priority Boarding

You cannot reserve your seats in advance with Ryanair but you can can purchase priority boarding for a fee of £4/€4 online or £5/€5 at the airport or via the call centre. Priority Boarding can also be added after the ticket purchase up to 4 hours prior to the schedule flight departure time.


If you have purchased this service and are using airport check-in you will have the words "Priority Boarding" printed on your boarding pass or alternatively will be given a yellow Priority Boarding Pass. If you are  travelling using online check-in and have purchased priority boarding you will have "Priority" printed on you online boarding pass. To receive priority boarding you need to be at the departure gate at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled flight departure.

Flying with animals

Ryanair does not accept pets or animals on any route. Guide/assistance dogs are carried on certain flights.

Travel Insurance

Ryanair works with AXA Insurance to offer you cover for your trips and travels abroad.

Changing Your Booking

Name Change

Flight changes (subject to seat availability) can be made up to 4 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time either online or via a reservation centre (subject to opening hours).

Internet only fares cannot be booked when flight changes are made through an airport or reservation centre.

No changes to the flight date/times/route can take place once a passenger has checked in online

Name changes cost £100 / €100.00 per name, per booking online or £150 /  €150.00  via airport or call centre
Flight Change Flight change: £35.00 / €35,00 single flight or £55 / €55,00 via airport or call centre. Plus any difference in cost between the original fare purchased and the fare at the time of making the change (if higher).

 

All About Baggage

Hold Baggage

Ryanair does not carry any individual item exceeding 32 kilos or with combined dimensions of more than 81cms (height), 119cms (width) and 119cms (depth). This weight limit does not apply to mobility equipment.


Each passenger may check in up to two checked bags upon payment of the applicable checked baggage fees by purchasing a checked baggage allowance of either 15 kilos or 20 kilos when make their initial booking. No pooling or sharing of baggage allowances is permitted, even within a party travelling on the same reservation.


Checked Baggage Fees per bag per single flight:

1st Bag - (15kg allowance): £15/€15 online £35/€35 via call centre or at airport /Peak Travel July & August: £20/€20 online £40/€40 via call centre or at airport

1st Bag - (20kg allowance): £25/€25 online £45/€45 via call centre or at airport/Peak Travel July & August: £30/€30 online £50/€50 via call centre or at airport

2nd Bag - 15kg allowance: £35/€35 online £75/€75 via call centre or at airport/Peak Travel July & August: £40/€40 online £80/€80 via call centre or at airport
Hand/Cabin Baggage

Every Ryanair passenger (excluding infants) is permitted to carry one piece of cabin baggage on board (free of charge).

Your handbag, briefcase, lap tops, shop purchases, camera, etc must be carried within your permitted one piece of cabin baggage which should weigh no more than 10kg and not exceed the maximum dimensions of 55cm x 40cm x 20cm. For the safety of passengers cabin baggage must fit underneath the seat or in the overhead compartment.

Excess Baggage

Any passenger exceeding their checked baggage allowance per bag will be charged for the excess weight at the rate of per £20 /€20 kilo. Each passenger can pay for a maximum of 2 checked bags.

If you are planning to travel with excess baggage, you need to arrive at the airport 2 hours prior to your scheduled departure time.
Children's Equipment

There is no checked or cabin baggage allowance for infants. One fully collapsible push chair per child is carried free of charge and does not need to be pre-booked. If using online check-in take the push chair  to the Bag Drop desk to be tagged before going through security.


Equipment like car/booster seats that are not part of a push chair or a travel cot can be carried in addition to your personal checked baggage allowance on payment of a separate Infant Equipment fee of £10/€10 online or £20/€20 via call centre or at airport per item/per one way flight (max 20kg).  Any item of infant equipment weighing over 20 kilos will be charged for the excess weight at the applicable rate per kilo.

Sports Equipment

You can add sports equipment online when making a booking.  The fee charged per Item/ Per One Way Flight up to a  maximum weight of 20kg per item (Bikes 30kg per item) is £40/€40 online or £50/€50 at airport or call centre

All sports equipment is carried in the hold and due to space limitations on the aircraft, we recommend that it is booked online.

To transport bicycles the pedals must be removed (or fixed inwards) and the handlebars must be fixed sideways. The bike MUST be contained in a protective box or bags. You may wish to deflate the tyres to prevent them bursting.

 

At the Airport

Online check in

Online check-in is available from 15 days prior to the date of the flight and up to 4 hours before the scheduled departure. Online check-in closes 4 hours prior to flight departure.

Airport check in

Ryanair do not have check in desks at the airport.  If you arrive without your boarding card you will be charged £40/€40  to have one issued per flight.

Fast Bag Drop

At airports with self-service kiosks you must have paid any checked baggage fees and/or excess baggage charges and deposited your checked baggage at the bag drop desk no later than 40 minutes before scheduled departure time.

 

During Your Flight

On Board Meals/Snacks

Ryanair carry a range of snacks on board with a choice of hot or cold beverages and a full range of beers, wines and spirits. As a rough guide: Tea/coffee costs £2.50, sandwiches range from £2.50, bottled water £2.50.

Use of laptop. MP3 player, etc

Portable games, lap tops and stereos can be used during the flight one the correct altitude has been reached and the Captain has turned off the “Fasten Seat Belt” sign. Mobile phones must be turned off before boarding and not switched on until inside the airport terminal building.
