Making your Reservation
| Booking your Seats | Seats are automatically assigned for all passengers when booking online with AerLingus. To change your seats click the "Change Seats" button on the 'Seating' page. If you want to book seats with extra leg room a small charge will be made. |
| Booking Fees | With AerLingus a booking fee applies of£8.00 / € 10.00 (per person per one way journey). Minimum booking fee £10.00 /€ 12.00 per booking. |
| Passengers with Special Needs | Aer Lingus ask passengers who may need assistance to contact them well in advance of their date of travel so that they can make suitable arrangements. Passengers must provide a minimum of 48 hours notice to Aer Lingus of their requirements. | Flying with animals | AerLingus do not accept Animals/Pets on short haul flights, (Ireland, UK, Europe). This is due to insufficient ventilation in the cargo hold on their short haul airbus fleet. |
| Travel Insurance | Aer Lingus and Mondial Assistance have teamed up to offer comprehensive travel insurance which can be taken out at the time of booking online. . |
Changing Your Booking
| Name Change | Name changes are not allowed online. Contact the AerLingus Helpdesk on 0871 718 5000 They are permitted for €100/£80 per person and may be changed up to 2 hours prior to commencement of journey. |
| Flight Change | Changes can be made through the Aer Lingus website up to 2 hours in advance of your flight. The charges are £40/€50 plus any difference in fare per passenger per sector. No refund will be applied if the change to the flight/date and route results in a lower fare |
All About Baggage
| Hold Baggage | You can pay online for checked baggage with AerLingus up to two hours before departure and receive a discount or pay the full fee at the airport. Additional excess fees apply for baggage over the maximum 20kgs (44lbs) in total checked baggage weight per passenger. |
| Hand/Cabin Baggage | Carry on baggage on AerLingus flights is restricted to one piece per passenger. The maximum dimensions for a cabin bag are: 55cm x 40cm x 20cm or 22in x 16in x 8in. Baggage must weigh under 10 kgs/22lbs and be small enough to fit in overhead bins or under your seat. |
| Excess Baggage | Excess baggage over 20kgs is charged at £6/€9 online or £12/€15 at the airport. |
| Children's Equipment | A fully collapsible push-chair is allowed free of charge with AerLingus for an infant booking only. All other baggage must be included in the accompanying adult's baggage allowance. |
| Sports Equipment | The maximum weight allowable for carriage of sports equipment is 15kgs/33lbs. There is a charge of €40/£32 for all single flights within Europe. |
At the Airport
| Online check in | AerLingus offers online check in and the option to print off your boarding pass. Online check-in for travel from Dublin, Shannon, Cork, Belfast, London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and Edinburgh is available up to 2 hours before your scheduled departure time. . Online check-in for travel from all other airports is available from 30 hours in advance and up to 4hours and 30 minutes before your scheduled departure time. |

| Fast Bag Drop | Baggage acceptance is available from 2 hours 30 minutes prior to departure. After you Check-in online with AerLingus you can proceed directly to the Bag Tag and Drop desk where your checked luggage can be processed. Please note that Bag Tag and Drop off desks are not available at all airports |
| Airport Lounges | Lounge facilities are available at most airports served by Aer Lingus including Cork, Dublin, Shannon, Belfast, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Gatwick, Glasgow, Heathrow, Manchester and Newcastle If you are not travelling in Business Class and wish to access any of the lounges, you must present either a valid lounge access card (a Gold Circle Club card or Bank of Ireland Gold Visa Business card), or a lounge invitation issued at check-in along with your Aer Lingus boarding card. |
During Your Flight
| On Board Meals/Snacks | Aer Lingus offers a Sky Café service on all their flights within Europe offering a variety of hot and cold food and beverages. All flights have newspapers for sale onboard. During the week you can purchase the Irish Independent and on Sundays the Sunday Independent. |
| Use of laptop. MP3 player, etc | Portable games, lap tops and stereos can be used during the flight but not during take off and landing. Mobile phones must be turned off before boarding and not switched on until well inside the airport terminal building. |
